Have you tried quoting the numbers: "23"?

Hi,
I seem to be getting two types of problems with fonts not working:

in the output. I'm trying to use the lyrics context to typeset roman

Many thanks to both Han Wen and Mats. I guess I just like being a source
compilation sort of guy. When I have time, I'll follow that advice and
fiddle with the TEXMF variable. In the meantime, I devised a ridiculous
kludge and made a symbolic link from my music compilation directory to

I guess the main problem is that you tried to install your
own version of xvi. In a normal teTeX installation, all paths
are found by looking at /usr/share/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf
(or wherever teTeX is installed). The settings in lilypond-profile
rely on this, which makes it possible to all the LilyP

Feri.
Hi there, Feri,
No... I ran the command:

However, I did realize that I had been copying the template file

Forgive me for asking what is probably the most common sort of question,
but after successfully compiling and installing LilyPond 2.0.2, as well
as xdvi 22.81, I get this message from xdvi when trying to open a dvi
file generated by lilypond:

First of all, remove all the .afm and .tfm files from your
working directory.
Did you install from a .deb package or compile from source?
If you compiled yourself, make sure to read the section in
INSTALL.txt about sourcing lilypond-profile.
If you installed from the package, make sure that the com
lily seems to not like running as non-root. I've tried removing and
reinstall lilypond and tetex on my system (debian unstable) to no
available. Example session below. This happens with any file.

Running /usr/bin/lilypond...GNU LilyPond

I'm sorry to hear that, but you will soon.

Hello!
I've wrestled all evening with Ghostscript, Lilypond, TeX, LaTeX, and
Denemo. For the life of me, I cannot get Lilypond to make *beautiful*
sheet music. Not printed, not converted to PDF, not saved into a
PostScript file, won't look nice in Ghostview, nor even seen from within
The GIMP.
