I'd like to report to the list that Philippe's problem was solved
removing portmidi and reinstalling it and Hraban's problem was solved

As Hraban already said, aubio
Davide,
Thanks again for your continued work in porting Frescobaldi to the Mac. The
migration from your port to the new port following your instructions was
without incident (though that damned "port upgrade outdated" took a very
very very long time). Is what I get for having an old MacBook runnin

Dear Philippe and Hraban,
could you both please send me (privately) the log files of the failing
upgrade/install?
MacPorts should tell you where to find it in the error message.
I would like to fix the compilation of portmidi.
If this will not be possible I'll make it optional.
Best wishes.

ortmidi', but the outdated version
works (it's only the "upgrade" that's impossible now). Of course, if you
re-installed Macports, I'm afraid you deleted the old version of 'aubio'
port :(

Hello Davide,
on my system (OSX 10.9) frescobaldi(-devel) fails because portmidi doesn’t
compile - I see lots of C errors in the log.
I completely re-installed MacPorts (and that’s a lot).
Can you make the MIDI stuff optional? Perhaps via a variant +no-midi?
Greetlings, Hraban

I understand that you upgraded from a previous version of Mac OS X;
did you follow the instructions at

What can I do to discover the correct form of the registry entry?
Thanks,

Dear users of Frescobaldi and Mac OS X,
I'm pleased to announce that Frescobaldi and python-poppler-qt4 have
been included in MacPorts! [1] [2]
This means that the procedure for installing Frescobaldi is now
greatly simplified.
You can find the new installation instructions at [3] (Italian transl
