ppears to work for me when there is repeated music before the alts. in
this case however, the second volta bracket
will not complete properly as Sven previously stated.
when there is nothing before the alts, the first volta bracket will not appear,
which I assume is normal behaviour.

Lilypond seems to handle alternative endings on repeated parts very well. What
about alternative beginnings, or even an
alternative somewhere in the middle?
Can someone tell me how I would do this?
