Dear list,
I would like to compile a Lilypond file downloaded from
Mutopia. It needs an include file (paper-20.ly). Where
can I get this? And does that define all the 'extra'
syntax the .ly file seems to contain?

Greetings all,
I would like to change the ottavation text (on the octave
up/down bracket) from the rather verbose default "8va
bassa" to just "8". The manual says I can do this with
\set Staff.ottavation = #"8"
but this gives me the following error when parsing:
/usr/share/lilypond/2.8.0/scm/li

I have a text on a multibar rest, like this:R1*8^"Verse 1"
The text appears centred on the rest. But I would like it
aligned to the left, to indicate that it refers to the
beginning of the rest. I've tried the following, but they
didn't make any difference:
