How can I remove the time signature? -- I googled and found
\override TimeSignature #'transparent = ##t
which works but leaves some space for the 'transparent' time signature.
So: how can I completely remove the time signature?

this was very valuable help indeed! I installed texlive-fonts-extra
which contains the Antykwa Torunska otf files. Then I linked the whole
directory into ~/.fonts. Then I used
myStaffSize = #26

as it comes with debian and 2.10.16-1 as downloaded from lilypond.org.

how can I have lyrics /below/ the notes? -- suppose I've a piece with
multiple stanzas and I'd like to have the first lyrics stanza
immediately below the notes but lyrics 2 - ... after the piece.
