I have a problem which I cannot figure out.
Lilypond has a built-in function to engrave guitar fingerings in a score.
The function works just fine, but is long and cumbersome to type, for
example:
\rightHandFinger #2 *(#2 = i = index finger)*
which fingers the attached note with the i
ment-997359090>.
I post the link to the workaround here in case other Mac/Lilypond users
encounter the problem.
A big, big thank you to the users and developers of Lilypond and
Frescobaldi. I am very grateful.

Thank you all for your help.
I have the development version of Lilypond 2.23.6 installed.
I have Frescobaldi 3.1.3 installed.
Frescobaldi launches fine.
I ran the the following Lilypond test code (this used to be the original
minimal input):
{

}
Frescobaldi choked and returned an e

But I really like your answer and I sincerely like to learn new skills, so
I appreciate your help. Thank you!

which package? "lilypond-2.23.6-darwin-x86_64.tar.gz" ??
What is the "generic package" lilypond-2-23.6.tar.gz ?
Once I know what to download, I'll give it try.
Much appreciated.

Request: Would someone kindly help me spec a minimally adequate new/used
Windows laptop to run Lilypond? Budget: less expensive is better, say less
than $500. *Please be as specific as possible.* See "problem" and
background below. Note: I don't have the physical space for a desktop, so

Thanks.
(Apologies if the answer is clearly posted on the website or Lilypond blog.
I searched 20+ minutes without success. I cannot upgrade to Catalina until
I know whether Lilypond will run. I found posting for folks running

I am stumped.

I want Lilypond to layout the score so that the the score "fills" the

Lilypond does a fantastic job engraving music. I want to print up high
