Hi,
some time ago I asked how to embed a RhythmicStaff into a "normal" Staff. I
was pointed to \improvisationOn/Off, which worked for the moment.
Unfortunately, now I really want to have some kind of RhythmicStaff inside a
normal Staff, so I again tried to find a way to do it and found the

Hi,
is there a way to embed a rhythmic staff (only a single line, which only
displays rhythms, not pitches) into "normal" music (here: singing voice)?
So, I want to have some melody, then a single rhythmic bar with some rhythm
and then some melody again.

That's it - so obvious...
Thanks for the quick help!

Hi,
how can I add a completely separate staff to my score? I want to display a
single separate line below all other lines, which is not synchronized with
or somehow related to the rest of the music. I tried the following (where
someChords, melody, text and separateLine are defined elsewhere):

\layout {
\context {
\ChordNames
\override ChordName #'font-family = #'roman
}
}
Of course it doesn't look as good as the sans-serif font.

whenever I try to add chords to my score, I get a GhostScript-related error
message when it tries to convert the ps file to pdf. Since I absolutely
don't know why this is happening, I'll simply post it - maybe one of you
knows what's the problem:
gs -q -dNOSAFER -dDEVICEWIDTHPOINTS=59
