I recently did (nearly) the same upgrade on a virtual machine, going from
Ubuntu 9.04 to Xubuntu 9.10. I ran your file on LP version 2.12.2
(downloaded from the lilypond site, not the repository), and it ran
perfectly. I have 768 MB of RAM on this virtual machine. If you got lilypond

You have _installed_ a version of the HTML manual together with your
software. It does not make sense at all to google for some online
version that does not fit with the rest of your installation.
while i agree with your sentiments, would you mind pointing out
_where_ the documentat
Note also that the warning message only is printed when LilyPond is
trying to generate a MIDI file that conforms with the input, not when it
generates the printed output.
