Lyrics are associated with a voice, so they will attach to
all the notes in that voice. So you can either put your
bass notes in a separate voice, or you can use \skip in the
lyrics to skip the bass notes.

I have a piece that has 4 bars intro marked as rests, if I place some notes
in that, like the bass intro, instead of the rests the lyrics start being
aligned with those notes.
Is there a way of signalling when the lirics should start and stop.
