Hi, all.
I have attached 2 images of measures that I would like to make in the
best way possible.
Here is the code I'm currently using for sample 1:
<<
{ \setUpFingeringsDotted 2. } \\
{ \setUpFingerings r4 2 }
>>
Here is sample 2:
<<
{ \setUpFingerings 4\< } \\

I had a feeling you might ask that. :)

You might want to see http://lsr.dsi.unimi.it/LSR/Item?id=283
Hope this helps!

reading documentation is really, really helpful with lilypond ;-)

Hi Neil,
thanks, this works quite well.
Do you know a way to write a music function or something like that to
make a shortcut for this?
Half of the score (about three lines) will be typeset like this and it
would help me much.

You can use the \tweak function for this:

Hi,
how do I typeset a chord of notes with one of them being a smaller
sized notehead?
See the attachment for an example.

As an American, I have to say that with so many of these
expressions, the meanings can change considerably based on the context.
In this particular instance, the writer wants to be able to apply a single
statement or rule and have the staves appear and disappear on their own
without any further in

is documented? I would love to have a cheat sheet of all the chords.

Francois, you're close.
In hunting terminology, "on the fly" means catching/killing a bird in the
air vs. catching/killing a bird on the ground. In fishing terminology,
catching a fish "on the fly" means using a fly bait which requires
continuous activity and rhythm with the rod and reel. In this

I don´t know, if there´s a way to remove this "add" let it only say
6/9 or sth like this.

Yep sorry guys, I wrongly assumed that the sax player in our quartet
would prefer reading 6-flats than 6-sharps (I would, but as a concert
pitch player I'm used to reading things written in flat keys so that
the horns aren't in tough keys). But I've just spoken to him and he's

Hi, all.
Is it possible to create this chord name? I have attached an image of

Hi, all.
The more I learn about LilyPond the more I like it, thanks to all. My
next questions is how do I change the font size for chord names? I am
getting them to appear in the correct place and I have altered the
maj7 symbol to my liking, so I'm making progress.
Thanks,

I'm using lilypond 2.7.28 on OSX, and am trying to write some rhythm

I have tried that but it transposes to F-sharp (6 sharps) and I'd
rather it was in G-flat (6 flats). It doesn't put any
double-accidentals when transposed to F# though, its true...
If there's no work-around I guess I'll have to go the F# route, but
this ought to be do-able somehow?
Thanks

Can I use lilypond to typeset music using Tonic Solfa notation (Curwen

Hi there guys,
I've been writing out a part for B-flat sax. I've written out the music in
concert pitch and so am using \transpose to display it in the right key for the

Hi!
Yes I know, its a newby question. And I found nothing really helpful that
defines it in relation with lilypond.
Can somebody explain?
Thanks in advance

Hi Rune:
Untested: Why not simply add an invisible note to each measure that
you want to force to show?
That works -- and is exactly what I did for my opera last year.
But it's just *way* too much work for something that should be much
simply accomplished in Lilypond... =)
Thanks,
