This has been possible in LilyPond for many years. If you want the
alternative pitch printed in the same stave, just typeset them in a
separate temporary voice and reduce the font size. For example:
\version "2.10.0"
\relative c'{
c d e f |
<<
% Main version:
{g g } \\
% Alternative version:
{
Improved user interface doesn't just mean GUI.
It can also mean things like simplifying the syntax to
make lilypond files more readible and usable, better
package structures, something better than templates -
style files etc. I'm talking about something analogous
to the jump from TeX to LaTeX.

Well, I did.
But I'm not able to shorten the .ly-example less than 30
Greetings,
I am a new user of LilyPond. I have been attempting to typeset
some vocal music that contains a few notes that have an alternate
pitch with a notehead that is smaller than the preferred pitch.
I found a similar question discussed in the archives back in July,
2004:

YES! You can put dynamic marks in the lyrics. Just turn lyricmode on and
off:
verse= {
\set stanza = \markup { "1 (" \dynamic "f" ")" }
\lyricmode {
Ly -- rics
}
\set stanza = \markup { \dynamic "mf" }
\lyricmode {
a -- gain
}
}

Wow, that's weird. Entered as

BTW, bug reports normally go to the bugs list.

Hi,
is there a way to set different margins for left and right pages (for
double-side printing), or to put some extra margin to the inner part
of the page in a book?
That's not currently supported in LilyPond as far as I know.
One possibility mig

Hi Mats,
Thanks for the suggestions. But neither of those things was the problem.
I had compiled the file correctly, and all of the new changes were
showing up, except for the error message and the old version in the
footer. Also, I'm sure that I had installed the newer version. I'm
working in

Comments:
- If Erik's proposal to handle fractions such as 2/3 as a new
argument type is implemented, then it will be trivial to
define your own music function
Please read the section on "Tuplets" in the manual for your version of
LilyPond.
(My guess is that you use version 2.8 where the name of the function was
somewhat different).
