Hi folks,
My lilypond-user mail seems to be coming in rather big batches maybe a dozen or
so messages at once), and now I'm starting to receive duplicate posts. I am
aware of problems with my email at my ISP, but this doesn't seem to be the same
thing. Has anyone else noticed this?

I understand the "not take the time to be accurate" but my guess is
at some point you might want to be more accurate. My general LP
template uses voices for chord names, a rhythm context, and some
other instrumental line - could be a vocal melody, but I'm

The suggestions would be great if I were more proficient at writing out
music in general. I think what I'm trying to figure out is the best way to
approximate the correct phrases quickly without taking the time to be
accurate.

Thanks for the advice.

Why not simply specify the rhythm both for the chords and
the lyric syllables. If you don't need the melody anyway, it's
probably a detour to do what Simon proposes.

In step 1 I need to just provide lyrics for my vocalists, and lyricswith chord names for the musicians. So for example I would need the

Thanks for your help,

I've found that the addition of FretBoard greatly enhances chords and

I also would like the possibility of muted strings in tablature, like
the X in notation that I haven't been able to accomplish so far...

Hi All,
I wrote earlier today about a first time use question and got a very
helpful answer, so first let me say thanks to the list as a whole.
I'm starting to learn Lilypond and I think its a great piece of
software. Obviously there is a learning curve but I'm OK with that.

I have a project in which I am training a computer to improvise in the
same style as an example piece of music.
I wrote a little program in supercollider to take a sequence of lilypond
notes, learn patterns from them and then generate
output for lilypond to render into a score.
The material I wo

Hey everyone, I'm just trying Lilypond for the first time today and
I'm hoping this list is a resource that can help me out a bit.
I use an Intel based Mac running OS X 10.4.8. I'm hoping to get
Lilypond running via the command line (not via the OS X GUI). The
hope is to use Lilypond for

Actually, the rest of the lyrics on the first line is better. This
looks like exactly what I want. Thank you!

Well as far as I know Windows Lilypond users are still missing the

Hi all.
Is it possible to engrave, with Lilypond, something similar to "Canone 1 a 2"

that is a mirrored clef and key accidentals at the end of the score?
