partcombine - how to use it?

Hi! I got a problem with cygwin 2.2.5 on windows XP and 2000 (the same problem occurs on the two machines): lily doesnt overwrite the old .pdf file, so I have actually to remove it before invoquing lilypond. Who knows about that? Thanks in advance from François __
