If you try the following example on 2.1.27:
\score {
\notes {
s1^\markup "Verylongtext"\f
a'1^\markup "Verylongtext"\f
}
}
you find that in the first bar, the f and "Verylongtext" are centred on
each other, whereas in the second bar, they are left aligned.

Hello:
I have what is probably a very simple question, but I can't seem to work
it out. Below you can find the source for one bar from the Concierto De

second group of 64th notes is a little close to the last 64th note. I

I am inserting gaps in lyrics, and I need to use

I'm using 2.1.27.

Does anyone know of a list where general music typesetting questions are
discussed? I have a number of questions that are not Lilypond specific and
am not sure whther this would be the right forum.
For example, I am working on copying a book that is now PD (copyright 1882).

I had a look through the manual, but I can't seem to find a \longa with a
longer tail, such as I have often seen. Also, one whose tail follows the
usual rules (i.e. on the bottom line, I'd expect the tail to go up; or is
that wrong? I'm copying from a handwritten score, so it might be at
fault...).

Hello,
I am trying to change the distance between the clef and the key

used this tweak:

You don't say what LilyPond version you use, but from your
example I guess it's a 2.0.x version. I just tried it (minor
modifications necessary) with the latest development version
where it seems to work well. So, if nobody comes with a better
suggestion, one solution is to upgrade to a recent deve

I have a tricky problem, when using lyrics with syllables terminated by
commas as shown in the appended files. The upper text uses commas while the
lower voice doesnt, with the result of a displaced syllabel resp. not?!?
