This works, in principle. However, the rest(s) bar becomes much wider
than a rest(s) bar without text.
In the attached example, bars1-4 is MUCH wider than bars5-8;

I guess this could be a bit tricky to implement. I would probably use
bar numbering at every 5th or 10th bar instead in such situations,
see input/test/bar-number-every-fifth.ly.

I find that I don't get measure numbers unless the previous
line ends with a bar. Would it be too difficult to make the number
of the next bar to appear in such cases, except for the
beginning of the piece of course?
