The jEdit implementation is good -- two left clicks -- almost Mats'
specification.

Who can install and maintain the page at http://lilypond.org/web/resources?
If you can do this, without linking and with "Under Construction" at the
top, anyone can review if they know it is there.
Probably ought to insert, in fine print at the end, something like:

Now, in \time 2/4,
r2 produces a horizontally off-center rest,
R2 produces a horizontally centered rest,
c2\rest produces a horizontally off-center rest, vertically positioned at
the position of note "c".
Controlling a horizontally centered rest with a specified vertical position
printpagenumber = ##f works just fine in 2.4.6. I hope it survives.

No substantive argument. Certainly not a high priority thing. Just seems
nice for consistency and completeness.

Bruce,
AFAICT from the code there is no such property. You could send in a

Several recent threads demonstrate a desire for absolute control of vertical

Last August there was a thread requesting the railroad tracks fetura/caesura
as a /breathe option. This message is intended to reinforce that request.
The attached file shows a way to implement flat tracks with current
versions.
