At a high level, how does ly:lyric-hyphen::set-spacing-rods work? I
understand that it inserts invisible objects to prevent lyric words
from being spaced too closely. How does it define the box widths and
stretchability/shrinkability of the springs in order to support
properties like LyricSpace.min

In 2.7.27 this works fine.
Hi,
I just built 2.7.26 on my Ubuntu Breezy system. Now the Century font for
text doesn't work -- instead it's replaced by a music font. See
http://basilcrow.com/tmp/petite-ouverture-a-danser.pdf
for an example. Reverting back to 2.7.25 fixed the problem.

I recently found Gauvin Pocentek's packages for Ubuntu Breezy at
http://pocentek.perso.cegetel.net/ubuntu.php and have been using them
for a few days now. The packages are at version 2.6.5, and as far as I
know this is the easiest way to get the latest version of LilyPond on
Ubuntu. Is there any re
Can LilyPond typeset a chord with a custom prefix/suffix, such as the

Hi,
The hyphen in the default tagline "Music engraving by LilyPond 2.5.26 -
www.lilypond.org" isn't typographic correct or pleasing for a program
that otherwise generates output of such high typographic quality. Could
you consider changing it to a bullet (•) or em dash (—) perhaps?

I like LilyPond. Even though I'm far from proficient at it, I know a
good thing when I see it -- and LilyPond is definitely a Good Thing when
it comes to music notation software. I'm a Windows user who's mucked
around with Linux and web development/coding who has been using Finale

Jan,
Wow! I am positively amazed. If I could buy you a drink right now, I
would. This puts LilyPond miles ahead in terms of being able to spread
to Windows users. It worked for me with no problems whatsoever,
including the recognition of fonts in my Windows font folder. The only
