Snow leopard is getting pounded in the cocoa forums, too buggy for
development use (typical for an apple .0 release). Maybe better wait for
a patch release (or two).

One little niggle remains: there are two grobs with font-family set to
'music (AmbitusAccidental and Clef), which means they ignore the
font-family change unless it's explicitly set (i.e., \override
Staff.Clef #

I can confirm that the installation otherwise works well also on Win 7.
