Hi Graham, seems for one time I can help you... :-) I had the same problem, and it resulted because I had forgotten to install also the texfiles from texinfo. So there has to be done: ./configure, make, make install and make TEXMF=your/path tex-install. Check it from the README. After mktexlsr
