Has someone already considered adding footnotes to lilypond? This is
perhaps the most important non-musical typesetting issue needed,
something which can't be handled by lilypond-book.
Looking into various scores, the used mechanism is quite simple: A
grob is marked with a symbol (something like
[lilypond 2.11.19]
Have a look at section 11.1.2, `Page formatting'. The example given
for `systemSeparatorMarkup' is incorrect -- the slash separator must
always be positioned *between* the staves. This looks like another
buglet in the new vertical layout engine.

I would like to sponsor the addition of two new noteheads:
1. An (open) accent-shaped notehead with both up-stems and down-stems
centered horizontally on the glyph
2. A solid, downward-pointing equilateral triangle notehead, again with
both up-stems and down-stems centere
