I checked-in another fix to CVS, for dvips to find the lilypond.map

What exactly do you mean with `zip'? Compress? Then I suggest zlib.

Attached is feta-alphabat-Medium20.pfb as generated with mf2pt1 and
automatically postprocessed with fontforge.
Note especially letter `r': Due to a bug in the mf sources (`fill' and
`draw' called simlutaneously), the autotraced outline was bad.

Thanks.
Now finding fonts is a problem. I don't really know, how font paths are

I'm away from my home PC at the moment, but it's definitely there.
kpsewhich tex256.enc says something like
/usr/share/texmf/.../tex256.enc
The problem seems to be that lily can't find it!

The attached abc file is in G minor, so it should print with a key
signature of two flats. When I use Pedro's abc2ly-snapshot, 2.4.2,
there's no key signature in the lilypond output.
This works fine on abc2ly 2.0.2.

It should be included in your teTeX installation.
What does the command 'kpsewhich tex256.enc' say on your system?

Still struggling with 2.4.4.
First, there is a problem with versions.
There is a 2.4.4 uploaded to the downloads.
Checking out the cvs -r2.4 contains some files that are newer than in
2.4.4, and some older.
The notation.itely file is broken in the cvs version.
The cvs version calls itself 2.4.3
