Indeed. Allthough it's a guile-feature, it should be mentioned somewhere
in the documentation.

Please explain. Do you see an alternative? IMHO using autoconf has
become much more reliable in the last two years or so.

terrific job with LilyPond. One of the few objections I have is
that they sometimes are too eager to adopt new technology.
