If the guest is modifying memory faster then your network connection can
sync it, the migration will never finish.
I've worked around this in the past by running 'virsh suspend' on the
source host. This will temporarily stop the guest, and allow the
migration to finish.

Thanks for the comments. Forgot to mention it but yes, I do have
"cache=none" configured for the migrated domain, as
in my XML file, and doubled-checked before and after the migration. In
fact, if cache is not set to "none", virsh will issue a warning and
refuse to do the live migration.
