libbar will be linked against the old /usr/X11R6/lib/libfoo.so and not the new one. I tried moving around the compiler/linker flags, but that didn't solve the problem. Is this is a shortcoming of libtool or is there a way for me to fix this? -- Alexander

t it only happens here on the mentioned system (alpha linux, suse 6.x) and not on other linux systems. Also the bug disappeared when using autoconf/CVS. I'm still looking forward to comments and would strongly advice to improve documentation on that point. BTW, can anyone give estimate
