I'm curious about these lines in m4/libtool.m4:

_LT_DECL([], [exeext], [0], [Executable file suffix (normally "")])dnl
exeext is empty on Windows, shouldn't it be:
AC_REQUIRE([AC_EXEEXT])dnl
