Noel, something looks broken with the mail setup. While I personally
received your mail twice (yesterday and today), both times with attached
patch, I only see it on the mailing list once (from today) -- and with
the attachment stripped.

I note that some of the C++ unit tests are being run from JUnit, which
seems counter-intuitive.
Is there is a good reason for this, or would it simplify matters to
convert them to CppUnit?
