Hi all.
LFTP is working well and I run it nightly in some cron jobs. However I
would like the jobs to exit after say 6 hours and then when it fires
up again the next night to pick up from where it left off. Is that
possible?

LFTP is now my only client (replacing that garbage ncftp)! :)

gh my whitelist filter, lftp is actually responsible
for 100% of the spam I get in total. That's kind of frustrating.

ng results. Configure recognizes
that ld is not GNU's ld. AIX ld needs the option "-bstatic".
The gcc manpage says, linker options unknown to gcc can be passed to the
linker with "-Xlinker

hey alexander,
allright, it does compile now over here (debian testing/sarge btw).

hey folks,
just tried to compile lftp on cygwin and and up with the following
errors during "make":
ResMgr.cc:733: error: declaration of C function `long int random()'
conflicts
with
/usr/include/stdlib.h:183: error: previous declaration `int random()' here

perhaps of interes for some cygwin/lftp users like me.
i made a little patch for lftp-3.2.1.tar.gz to a.) make lftp compile and
install on cygwin and b.) get rid of annoying log messages that i had
without the second patch in the patchfile.
anyways, i didn't test all functions of lftp but for me
attach my output to this email.
Once I finish my tutorial I think the lftp man page could use some
examples. I can help there.
Side question: Is it possible to use a bookmark for the remote server
(instead of ftp://./)?

No, the CPU is not being used. Here is another example (more extreme than
usual):
lftp ftp.openbsd.org:/pub/OpenBSD/3.7/packages/i38

Hi,
i am not sure, but i think since lftp 3.5.0 my proxy settings no longer
work.
just did a fresh compile of 3.5.1 and still the same problem ...
lftp simply ignores them and connects to ftp sites directly without
using the proxy.
my settings are:
set http:proxy 192.168.0.1:40002

Hey Arkady,
Can't tell right now which Cygwin version I am running at work. Will
check that out.
I tried the precompiled 3.5.1-1 version. It works fine, except for that
other bug, that has been around for quite a while which complains about
"Transport Endpoint not connected" when using TLS connect
I don't know if this issue has been discussed before, but i discovered
this week, that the lftp default debian-testing package, compiled with
gnutls, without ssl, uses up to 80% cpu when downloading from an ssl/tls
enabled ftp site (data encryption enabled).
Now i compared it to a self-compiled lft

hi,
does lftp have a 'feature' that allows it to force the (re)usage of a port for
the data-chanel?
e.g. if you do a 'ls' the response comes via data-channel, and if you issue a
'get' the same socket on the client side would be used to retrieve the file?
does this handle the tcp-stack of the OS or
