Hi,
I try to set an environment to generate pdf files for lfs. I installed
fop, jai and openjdk. I've not installed the dependencies of openjdk, and
not JUnit. make says:
Generating PDF file...
make: *** [pdf] Error 1
How can I have more verbose info? Do some dep are mandatory so build a pdf (I
simple chroot,
then it would fix everything. :)
Thanks very much.

Hi,
Maybe I made too quickly the system, so I plan to start again from scratch.
But maybe I can understand 9hat happens before: in the kernel, when I do make,
I get:
SYSHDR arch/x86/syscalls/../include/generated/uapi/asm/unistd_x32.h
HOSTCC scripts/basic/fixdep
gcc: error trying to exe
anyway (I learnt some ways to make "make" more verbose).

Hi,
I'm building lfs-7.3. On Udev (chap6), I get, at make:
No rule to make target `build/log.o', needed by `build/udev-local.
It happens after I untar udev-lfs-197-2.tar.bz2 in udev directory.
Is there some problem in udev-lfs? Does something miss on my install, e.g.
sysklogd? I don't think; I

What kind of change is possible? I study the script but I am somewhat lost :)

Could it be a kernel problem? A bootscript problem? Can I workaround or
fix?

Hi,
Here's what I did when I downloaded the binary JDK.
sed -i "s:^PATH=.*::" jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i?86.bin
chmod -v +x jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i?86.bin

Sorry, I sent too fast my previous mail!
Thanks very much for your help.

Hi,
In /var/spool/cups, I've a tmp directory, I only can open this
directory as root, not as user. Then, I did:
sed -i 's/LogLevel warn/LogLevel debug2/' /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
Then, as root, I restarted with /etc/rc.d/init.d/cups restart
and I tried to print (lp File.txt). Nothing has changed.

Hi again,
Well, finally I decided to test a starting, even if md5sum didn't give
the result I waited. And it worked! But now, I need a very small help
please, if it's not a problem. I'll look at the manual on the CD if
there's one, but waiting, I ask.
I've a problem: I'm blind. Once the CD started,
Hi Jeremy,
Here's what I did.
To download the CD image and its md5, I did:
yafc -a ftp.lfs-matrix.net/pub/lfs-livecd/
Then, I did:
get lfslivecd-x86-6.1-2.*
After download, I looked the size of my image, the file .iso has this
size: 375M
So, I did your suggestion:
md5sum -c lfslivecd-x86-6.1-2.md5
Hi,
I didn't know enough the livecd, but it's right it's exactly what I
want. So I'm going to use it. But I burned a RW CD, with:
cdrecord -v dev=ATAPI:0,0,0 -data lfslivecd-x86-6.1-2.iso
With a R CD, I get the same result: it doesn't work! Do I a mistake,
do I have to burn differently? Thanks for
Hi,
When I have finished everything, I'll want to install pdftotext, which
is in the package xpdf-tools. But this package contains a lot of
useless tools for me. So, is it possible to extract pdftotext only,
and to install only this package? Or do I have to install all the
package? With lfs, I imag
