LFS6.8-After successfully setting up gateway, there's no login shell propmt displayed

Hi, I have been building the LFS 6.8 for first time. Host distro Ubuntu 10.10: 2.6.35. I have a problem right now. When the boot screen shows that 'successfully setting up gateway'. The cursor just flashes. There's no login shell prompt. I have done some googling but still cannot figure out wha
