Problem compiling Glibc 'LIBCIDN_SO' undeclared

when I'm running "make" on glibc (tried both 2.8-20090309 and 2.9-20090309) the compiler exits with 'LIBCIDN_SO' undeclared. Did I forget something? Using version 6.4 of the book, with the LFS liveCD in a vmware image Some compiler output: BC_REENTRANT -include ../include/libc-symbols.h -
