I'd like to give my opinion and 2 cents worth to this topic, even if I'm not a
regular
member or contributor. I've been reading the forums more regularly recently.
I came across LFS 3 - 4 years ago, when I got upset with all other
distributions that I
had tried. Upset mainly because of their PM
I've just finished building LFS-SVN20070731 and after some tests observed,
that looking at larger man pages (for example, bash), would produce a
grotty output error, if the man page read was prematurely aborted by
pressing the 'q' key.

In chapter 6.45, a sed command removes two paths from the MANDATORY_PATH
in the man_db.conf; one of them /usr/man.
However, I've found that there are some man pages in /usr/man and subsequently,
because of the path not being in man_db.conf, I can't display these man pages
(for example, bash).

The tcl section mentions that the test suit should be run by issuing
make test.
However, I've found that with that, the clock test will always fail. The LFS
book issues TZ=UTC make test instead and that takes care of the test
failure.
Any particular reason why this is different?
