Pretty close to the result / performance of the season.
Not going to go on too much, but Bamford is deserving of all the plaudits;
Raphinha had another excellent game as did Ayling (bringing back the Kisnorbo
wrap) and Meslier was again good when needed...although Schmeichel did as much

Ah shit. I had no idea about the diagnosis. What sad news.
Thanks for passing on the news Wiggy.

Yep, that was truly shit. About as bad as 4th division Colchester beating
Revie’s Leeds.
Bamford, Klich, Meslier, Ayling & Dallas all came out of that one looking good.

Let’s just take a moment to recognise that we kept a clean sheet without any
recognised centre backs...and also, that our response to losing all those goals
at corners was to tell Meslier to come for everything however ridiculous it
seems.
That was a sweaty palm almost 90 minutes of football.
As someone said somewhere else, if you want the 5-2 victories you get from
playing that way, then you’re going to have to take the odd 6-2 defeat as well,
because some days it doesn’t fall for you. Also, as Bamford said, they are
learning that being a yard out of position can really cost you ag
Never mind our defence, is their defence good enough...we shall see.

I don’t have much to add to this as it says pretty much everything I would have
done: when I was thinking about our defence last night I couldn’t get past the
word “makeshift”...
Some of the most improved players of the last couple of years - Dallas, Ayling,
Klich, Alioski - were valued, in par

I think you’re not taking it in the spirit intended, certainly by me at any
rate. I love the way we are playing and the players doing it, but there’s no
harm in recognising a bit of reality when you see it - all in context. Of
course I’ll take 17th.

I’m not a fan of VAR. I always thought it a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
English commentariat got itself all excited after Lampard’s ‘goal’ against
Germany and demanded ‘something be done’. But across a season decisions evened
out, pre-VAR...now we’ve actually legislated ‘in’ interference.
