John Shaffer is guessing a broken rocker arm. So today I was running the engine to test a new tach and something broke. Everything was normal and WAM BAM the right side AFR went off scale lean. Now engine barely runs. +

Well in theory any intake leak will affect all cylinders since it disturbs the amount of vacuum. Only a fuel injected engine would not notice very much. The only noise I hear now is when I turn it over by hand there is a loud SNAP every other rotation. If I dropped a valve seat that SNAP is

Thanks, a valve seat issue would make sense. I went and checked this am and #2 cyl is dead. Removed the valve cover and #2 is open about 1/8". Might make for an interesting disassembly video. I'll be pulling the head later this week. Craig N886MJ > On 12/12/2022 7:21 AM CST Mark Jones w

Not yet but yes that would indicate an intake leak. I was so upset I just had to get away from it and think. CW > On 12/11/2022 8:53 PM CST Chris Pryce via KRnet wrote: > > > Did you run a differential compression check? That will tell you if you have > a valve train issue right away. > >

Did you run a differential compression check? That will tell you if you have a valve train issue right away. On Sun, Dec 11, 2022, 18:43 MS wrote: > Tested springs and they tested "OK"? What kind of reasoning is that? > > Re-used valve springs? Sheesh. > > Mike > KSEE > -- > KRnet mailing list
