I noticed what looks like epoxy around the prop flange. Is oil leakage
in this area a typical problem?

What worries you about the gear?I have mine set up like that, only I used
Gerdies wheels and brakes,and I flared in the gear legs to the fusalage.

I can't see the method of attachment very well. I would want to examine the
brackets and attach points better. It looks like it was quickly put
together without a whole lot of attention to detail.
I just think that it should be looked over very carefully.
