I noticed that the both main spar and TE spar WAF bolts in my aircraft were within recommendation (ie the thread was inside the WAF fitting) but this meant that one end of the bolt had increased clearance in the WAF fitting hole as the thread is a smaller diameter than the grip diameter of the bol

Once the wings are bolted on, the play must be zero. If I understand you correctly. Find the cause and correct it. I certainly suspect that the bolt holes are too large and you will have to ream them out to the next size up. Don't take my word for it. I am sure you will get more replies on thi
