Never saw that in a VW Manual. Just for kicks, I Googled "VW Timing", and found this among many others Twist the distributor body to set the timing. I usually set it somewhere between 30 - 32 degrees BTDC (but no more than 32 degrees). Use 25 or 28 depending on your Mag. You don't "Tweak"
