Just last fall, the gentleman in the hanger next to me was out flying his
OOPS!! I guess I did open up one.
I stand corrected. Most of the hear say that I have been getting is
from locals who are flying Pipers and such. Maybe their input isn't
what I thought it was.

The crank break with vw is for the TypeIV engine. That was the vw that was
the promise of more power after the 2180 typeIII engine. It lost favor
after it was costly and tended to break cranks. The Corvair took over
around that point in time. I don't remember the exact dates but the
