So true Kevin. 4 stroke, dual overhead cams, up to 5 valves per cylinder,
available fuel injection. All they need is a turbo. Liquid cooled internal
combustion engines, getting smaller, making more po

I thought a neat engine for the KR would be the Yamaha Genesis (Vector
snowmobile) engine. 120-150 HP in a tiny 4 stroke package. There is even a
commercial conversion adapter being made for it now that adapts the Rotax
gearbox to the engine. I think the running weight is somewhere around 16

This is the link to the KR2T story. Turbine powered KR2. Not a good ending.

Paul said, Corvair on a KR1, WOW! That would be a lot of engine.
Has anyone ever put more than an O-200 on a KR2? Say an O-235 or so...

I don't know of one, but Richard Shirley has a 3300 Jabiru on his KR-1,
which is essentially the same power, but lighter. Some weight in the
tail would be required, and the wing loading would be high, and landing
speed correspondi

Does anyone know of a KR-1/Corvair that has flown?
I have a KR-1/VW1835cc that I fly as my daily flyer.
I am considering upgrading to a Corvair 3000cc since this is the
lightest version in the Corvair line.
Has anyone flown a KR-1/Corvair combo?
