Hello there I have used both Goof Off and Goo Gone in other applications.
Goof Off is very harsh and in my experiance really likes to melt anything
plastic. Goo Gone is a Citrus based product and is not near as nasty but
seems to work just as well when it comes to removing any sticky residue. I
3M makes an adhesive remover and cleaner that I think is far superior to
Goof Off. You should be able to buy it at any auto paint store. I have
used both, but stick with 3M and have now gone through over 2 quarts of the
stuff. It is good for cleaning most anything and does a very good job on

There is Goof Off and Goo Gone. I have found them in Ace Hardware and True
Value Stores.

You may be thinnking of Goo Gone. It is for removing glue residue left from
removing labels and such.
