Small question here from the peanut gallery. Gentlemen, why do we worry about what the FAA has to say regarding fuel pumps when we operate Experimental class aircraft? Wouldn't it be a wiser choice to go with the mechanical pump on the engine with a Stewart Warner electric fuel pump for takeoff a

I received a call from Steve Jones (Fixerjones) who explained the operation of the Facet in detail. To put is in plain English, the facet must have an anti back flow to be able to pump fuel. Since there is no impeller or diaphragm as in a mechanical pump, the Facet utilizes a pulse operation and

Another thing or two to keep in mind when designing fuel systems with the Facet pumps. You shoud have the pump mounted low in the system if possible. I had one mounted on the back of my header tank to transfer fuel from the wings to the header. I did some experimenting first to see if the pump w

The instructions for the Facet are to install it at the lowest point in the system with the line from input to output going up at a 45 degree angle. I would suggest that they be installed according to instructions. They also call for a filter as do most carburetors. There is a time for buildi

You asked: Right now the gravity works very well, so I am not sure why I need a pump I ask in reply: What would make gravity stop working? There is a time for building and a time for FLYING and the time for building has expired. See N64KR at http://KR-Builder.org - Then click on the pics Dani
