I have an 1835 VW engine that I will be starting soon. My question: Is it okay to start the engine and run it a minute or two or two, without damage? ( It would be convenient not to have the prop in the way) Thanks for your replys.

I ran my Vdub 1835 at idle and slightly above for about 2 minutes total without dire consequences. I was using Mystery Oil to get lube to distant parts of the engine because it had not been started in years. Your mileage may vary. -- Paul KR2 Stretched Derry, NH -- Original messa
