This is a great start, if you really want to know how it works and some of the
advantages of this kind of system over some of the others. There is NO bull on
this site. If you have any questions about anything you read or see, I will be

The discussion about primers and Ellison throttle bodies almost had me
convinced that I should tear into it again and add some more stuff. However,
I've discovered a little trick that might work instead.
The port that senses the vacuum pulses is upstream from the throttle slide and

I have an EFS2 Ellison on my 1835cc GPVW. I know that Ben Ellison insists on
the use of AVGAS but has anyone tried using auto gas in it? His reason is that
auto gas additives will affect the gaskets.

yea,i tries autogas in my ellison & fou temps at full rich at full power,
then i reduced rpm for a landing & it it almost quit running,at full rich. so i
went to full power to get it to run & switched tanks to the avgas & it ran
fine. i landed & drained the 10 gal out & never tried that again.
I wonder why? What is it that they do to stc engines to
run autogas(if anything) and did you do this change or test. Or is it just
paperwork?

I also have an EFS2... I burned auto gas when I was doing some

We are using the EFS-2 on a 2180. I had previously used it on an 1835 and a
1915 with great results. I do believe that the type IV requires an EFS-3.
