Well, yes and no actually. The same castings are used but the contour of
the leg is different. The axle position in relation to the gear leg is a
moved by about a couple inches depending on the leg used.

My spars are a little taller than stock KR2 Spars. Still has enough wood to
be OK for through bolts.but I was thinking that it might be good to put a
thin plate of 4130 on the back side (actually front side nose dtragger!) of
the spar from the casting to strengthen it up (size of casting).

I would go with the route that Mark J spoke of, but if they're already
closed and you feel you need a backing plate, I would use 6061plate instead
of 4130 to avoid having to wor
