All of the configurations should be equally safe, if properly built and if
the pilot is comfortable with it.
If you are already comfortable with a certain configuration and can
replicate that in the KR, then that is the one that you may prefer and in
that case, it would be a matter of preference.

to control sticks and retractable gear. Sitting in the center of a
standard KR-2 with a center stick gives you more headroom and side room.
