EA81 engine has oil delivery issues to that rear main. There is more info on
the web on this for a fix..

That appears to be wear from throw out bearing pressure applied to a standard
transmission clutch plate.

Given that the EA81 makes best power around 4800 rpm, direct drive
probably not
a real good idea, a reduction of about 2:1 brings prop rpm down and a
good belt or
gear drive will also take the thrust saving the engine bearings
considerable loading.
