flyers here in my realm are into mixing
half auto and half 100. From what I under
stand there is a problem with the high
lead content with 100LL and sticking
valves ( makes you wonder why they call it
low lead). What's the solution when you
have seals that are sensitive to auto
fuel?
Back in 88 or so I had a bad experience with poor performance from regular
auto fuel. My engine had a bad case of detonation. After that experience I
have only used 100 LL in my type 4. I have never experienced a problem with
sticking valves.

Don,
Inquire about 82UL avgas and it's availabity in your
area. This is going to be the replacement to 100LL
when they start to phase it out. I'd like to know
what the availabilty is around the country as well.
