Why not use plain automotive steel fuel line, it is strong and workable and
available.

Bondo is a combination of resin and talcum powder, it is highly absorbent and
should be primed over with a sandable primer. Next you go over it with a spot
putty and sand it down with very fine 220 paper. Then reprime for paint!

Body shops have this problem all of the time. Also use hire dryer to heat and
soften.
