I got lucky, after my Diehl nosegear strut collapsed, NVaero was still
around, and the strut Steve supplied
turned out to be slightly thicker and definitely heat treated, of course
it was un-drilled but that was an easy job.
but the original (20 years old?) just bent/collapsed at slow taxi, j

Given that the EA81 makes best power around 4800 rpm, direct drive
probably not
a real good idea, a reduction of about 2:1 brings prop rpm down and a
good belt or
gear drive will also take the thrust saving the engine bearings
considerable loading.

An alternative is find some Cessna pre-made wedges that are used on those
certified aircraft to set the axles at the correct angle.
I personally would not make changes at the spar mounting bracket.

Has anyone ever measured static thrust?
I just got back from airport measured static thrust.
couple of tow straps a large fish type scale (up to 350 lbs)
field elevation: 7300 feet
engine Soob EA81 turbo, NSI turbo pistons and their "hot" cam, Ellison
EFS-3A
reduction belt drive is 2:1 (?)

What's y'alls cross wind limit? Tri-gear, tail wheel type of brakes?
I've got nose wheel, Matco. The other day while taxi testing in 15-20
direct cross wind
it weather vaned pretty bad and left brake wasn't enough to keep it
straight.

Trying to cover the gap above instrument panel.
With the hinges for the canopy, I think I'll attempt
to make the 'shelf' into the canopy rather than make a
removable thing wit hinge cutouts.

started filling 15 gallon header
tank (attached permanently to underside of removable front deck) - We
got about 14.5 gallons

I were to do any sloshing, I'd do it with vinyl ester resin.
This is off subject, but viny lester resin can be applied over epoxy,
while epoxy over vinylester doesn't work so well.

I saw that, followed it from a google search, pretty cool way.
I was thinking of pulling ASI out and setting it on my dash board
with a nylo-flow tube hanging out the window and comparing
car speedO with ASI.

Did a high(ish) speed taxi. I thought I was going about 40-45 - but the
ASI never budged. Got a friend
well, since retirement, I've gotten back to work on my Subaru (turbo)
powered KR.
Got a hangar and moved it over to the airport. Getting 4300-4400 rpm
static with Warp drive 3 blade (60in) prop. Manual boost controller set
mid-scale. Innovate boost gauge showing about 5-8 inches.
