The #44 drawing shows the spar to be untouched but the Photo #29 pg 71 is as
described below, so there seems to be a conflict

I just bought a nosed over KR-2 and the original builder told me that he
reinforced the turtledeck arch by laminating it with multiple layers of spruce.
It survived the noseover and so did the pilot.
