Yes, very good book, cuts to the Case. another good bedside reader is Harry
Riblett's GA Airfoils.
I bought a copy for a guy who designed a plane with an expanding chord
Airfoil (yeah you read that right) several are now being built by HB'ers
and the disappointment factor is 10x less ;-)

I did a long XC in the backseat of an IO-540 F1 Rocket, was totally

vise-grip on the front seat Headrest/Roll over bar.

tail's jobs is to counter the cm/pitching moment of the wingWhich I'd

Look for your local metal supplier, 6061-T6 is used everywhere including
roadsigns. Angle is quite common and the corner radi are usually generous.
